THE MINISTER DELEGATE ATTHE PRESIDENCY IN CHARGE OF DEFENCE
HEREBY INFORMS:
Young Cameroonians of both sexes who are interested in building a career with the Defence Forces, that a competitive entrance examination into the National Gendarmerie of 300 Student Non-Commissioned Officers (General Service), 40 Student Non-Commissioned Officers (Military Health), and 3000 Student Gendarmes shall be organised from 27 March 2023 in the Chief-towns of the 10 Administrative Regions of Cameroon.
Applicants should deposit their file at the Headquarters of the Gendarmerie Legion at their place of residence, between 30 January and 10 March 2023, latest.
Conditions to be fulfilled:
- GENERAL CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED BY CANDIDATES
- Be of Cameroonian nationality;
- Have a clean criminal record;
- Be single without dependent children;
- Be of good moral standing;
- Be physically fit to carry out the prescribed sporting, intellectual and medical requirements;
- Have a minimum height of 1.67 metres for boys and 1.60 metres for girls.
- SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR CANDIDATES SITTING FOR STUDENT NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS INTO THE GENDARMERIE
In addition to the general application conditions:
- Be at least 18 years on 1st January 2023 and at most 23 years on 31st December 2023 (that is, must be born between 1st January 2005 for the youngest and on 31st December 2000 for the oldest);
- Be holder of a GCE Advanced Level in at least one (01) subject (excluding Religious Studies), a Probatoire or an equivalent certificate.
- SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR CANDIDATES SITTING FOR STUDENT NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS INTO THE GENDARMERIE (MILITARY HEALTH)
In addition to the general application conditions:
- Be at least 18 years on 1st January 2023 and at most 28 years on 31st December 2023 (that is, must be born between 1st January 2005 for the youngest and on 31st December 1995 for the oldest);
- Be holder of a GCE Advanced Level in at least one (01) subject (excluding Religious Studies), or a Probatoire or an equivalent certificate.
- Be holder of a State Registered Nurse or a Health Technician certificate, or an equivalent.
Certificates in psychology, psychiatry, intensive care, stomatology, radiology, cardiology, physiotherapy, ENT, public health, maternity care or midwifery are additional assets for applicants who hold these qualifications.
- SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR CANDIDATES SITTING FOR STUDENT GENDARMES
In addition to the general application conditions:
- Be at least 18 years on 1st January 2023 and at most 23 years on 31st December 2023 (that is, born between 1st January 2005 for the youngest and on 31st December 2000 for the oldest);
- Be holder of a GCE Ordinary Level in four (4) subjects (excluding Religious Studies), or a BEPC or an equivalent certificate.
However, for all these competitive entrance examinations, it is strongly recommended that each applicant should equally submit a certified true copy of their highest certificate.
- COMPOSITION OF APPLICATION FILE
- A hand written application bearing a 1,500 CFAF stamp, signed by the applicant and addressed to The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence;
- A certified true copy of birth certificate, not more than three (3) months old;
- A certified true copy of the required certificate or the 2 certificates for applicants under military health specialty;
- An attestation of presentation of applicant’s required original certificate or the 2 certificates for applicants under military health specialty;
- A curriculum vitae signed by the applicant;
- One applicant information sheet (fiche de renseignements) duly filled out;
- Four passport-size colour photographs without headgear;
- A certificate of nationality issued by competent authorities;
- A certificate of non-conviction not more than three (3) months old signed by a magistrate;
- A certificate of celibacy;
- One envelop bearing applicant’s address and a 1,500 CFAF postal stamp;
- A receipt for the sum of 10,000 CFAF for Student-Gendarme applicants and 15,000 CFAF for Gendarmerie Student Non-Commissioned Officers, paid to the “Chef du Bureau Administratif et Financier” of the Gendarmerie Legion where the file is submitted.
Applicants’ attention is drawn to the fact that they shall not be authorized to marry before three (3) full years of service.
Applicants must be able, if necessary, to present the original certificates before the competent committees, failing which their applications shall be rejected. /-
